The Place

The name Zuri reflects our progressive, innovative nature.  Zuri defines not only our commitment to European excellence in hair care, but also has a very personal association.  Peter Friedauer, Zuri Salon & Spa owner and Zuri Institute® founder, began his career in Zurich, Switzerland.

Zuri's hair designs and commitment to excellence have received local, national and international attention in leading publications.

Zuri Institute of Hair Design
® was conceived with the idea to bring European-style apprenticeships into the salon and teach students the trade.  Zuri Institute exposes them to the real world hair business and helps them earn their license as a hairstylist at the same time.

Zuri Institute® is located on the corner of Third Avenue and Steele Street in Cherry Creek North, within walking distance of some of Denver's finest dining and shopping.

The Industry

Sam Brocato, an industry icon, wrote a book titled The Beautiful Industry.  It could also be titled The Gratifying Industry or The Creative Industry.  I love this industry because it is all of the above and much more.  Where else can you beautify people by being creative and feel instant gratification?  On top of all that, you meet great people and develop great relationships.

The Career

A career in hair design is both unique and rewarding.  It is unique in the sense that things are never boring.  We are constantly confronted with changes.  Styles change, customers change and of course, the scenery changes.  We have to keep up with new hair fashions and techniques.  We meet new, interesting clients and are able to travel the world to hair shows, to visit salons, or to work in cities like New York, Paris, Los Angeles and Milan.  We feel gratification when making clients beautiful and seeing them happy.  In addition, it is rewarding to teach and mentor young stylists starting out their careers.

Welcome to the beautiful, creative, rewarding, ever-changing business.
